XenApp and USB Scanners

I am running XenApp 5 and have a published application that our clinical users access via the web interface.  Part of their daily process is to scan documents into the application via a USB scanner that is attached to their local PC.

They can scan perfectly locally but the scanner does not function when trying to scan into the published application.

We can also successfully scan into the same application via a terminal server session for the users that are not using XenApp to access the application. The application vendor has a scanner client that enable a USB scanner to function properly with their software through TS sessions.

Any help on solving this issues will be worth max points.
