I can not open my solution.  I get an error saying Unable to read the project file.  This project requires .net compact framework v2.0 which is not installed on this machine.....   I can not open the project.  or any previous versions of the application.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the VS2008 and still am unable to get this error to disappear.

Thanks for your help and the link.  I had downloaded your version and tried to install it knowing that I had already downloaded and installed a newer version.  (compact Framework 2.0 Sp2 (version 2.0.7045))   In this process i had the option of repair or removing the newer version.  I decided to try repairing (which I had done before) but this time I turned OFF my anti-virus.  It worked !!!!  sort-of???  I am getting a different error now but this error I am getting on 3 different system and had already had opened a question on it so See question

I also found out that uninstalling the symbol SDK application was what caused the compact framework to become corrupt in the first place.
