You see this error, but the project is loaded. You can change the current configuration and everything is compiled and work.

If I'm right, in the solution manager check  all configurations you have in your project.

You can create a back-up copy of your solution folder with subfolders and files. The in the solution manager delete the wrong configuration. You can even delete all of them one by one and close/open studio with the project to verify which configuration  caused this message box.

Yes. In the Solution manager you can add/remove/edit the configurations: Win32, Windows Mobile SDK...
Probably, there is an error. I can guess that an SDK does not exist or cannot be found on your computer.
So, make a back-up copy of your solution (just copy the entire solution folder somewhere on your hard disk). Than delete the solution ncb-file. Try to open. If it does not help, call the solution manager (right mouse click on the top-most item in the solution view and there is the item) and check how many configuration you have. I hope you will see the mistake and fix it.

Another option: make new solution, add new project. If you have the back-up of your original solution, you can delete the broken solution and this new solution and new project may have the same names. Be sure that it compiles well. Copy all cpp, h, rc, txt, bmp, etc. files to this project and add them manually. Of course, it requires more time, but will fix the problem.

My project file had gotten corrupt.  I did not have a ncb-file to delete, but I think that is because my solution is in VB and you seem to be talking about a solution in C# or C++.  I ended up making a new solution and project and it now works.  Thanks.
