From memory when I got my free ESXi licence you could select how many processors it was for, not sure if that is still the case.<br />

The 60 day trial is an Enterprise Plus Trial which is licenced per CPU. I haven't used the trial as Enterprise plus is way more than we are going to spend on VMware anytime soon.<br />

You will be able to use all the hardware in your server with the free serial, we ran a dual quad core server on the free licence for a couple of years before buying an Essentials licence.<br />
