BlackBerry Receives Emails Only After Sending Emails

I have a user with a BlackBerry Curve 8330.  He is setup to receive emails through our BES.  However, the user does not receive any emails unless he sends one.  Once he sends an email, all emails that have not yet been received by the BlackBerry start loading at once.  Any ideas on this would be helpful.  I'm thinking that we need to have his BES account deleted and recreated.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

it won;t hurt to delete the bes account and recreate it. perhaps before doing that try resending the IT policy to the device. I can;t recall offhand how to do it, I'll need to log onto my bes to check.

perhaps he's set something on the device, you can over ride this with the IT policy too....

Thanks for the advice.  Reloading the IT policy didn't fix the issue, so I had the user's BES account re-activated.  After reactivating and letting the BlackBerry complete all syncronization, the email started functioning correctly.  Thanks again for your suggestion.
