Dial Tone can't create blank database?

There was a server crash that we got back online and running. Databases are corrupted and need repair. In the meantime, we need toc reate a dial tone except that after removing the old databases out of the original path, we can no longer mount a new database. It asks us if we would like to create one but then gives error c1041724 (an internal processing error accurred) blah

Next in event viewer we see

MsExchangeSA 9175
MsExchangeIS 9518
MsExchangeIS 9519
MsExchangeIS 9546
MsExchangeIS Mailbox 9547

I tried most of these.

We cannot mount a blank database. Any suggestions?

Use this document to create a dial tone restore.
http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Exchange-Dial-tone-Restore-Method-Part1.html

See the table here on limitations on number of storage group and database stores per group
http://www.msexchange.org/articles/Understanding-Exchange-Information-Store.html

http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/exchange2007/exchange2007_storage_groups.htm

You are getting the error probably because you are trying to create more stores than what is allowed.

Try this
a) Take a backup of your existing database on a diff. drive.
b) Delete the mailbox stores, create fresh one's and then try to create a blank database.

Try restarting information stores and see if it works.

I know how to create a dial tone but the problem is when I mount the blank database, it no worky.

These errors have nothing to do with too many storage groups.

I think I found something in this link but I don't have a system account to delete. Maybe that is the issue?

Funny, I can't even delete the store or storage group even though their is no database and it's dismounted. It says there are users using the store blah blah. Holly glitch batman.
Did you check ADSIEdit

start  > run > adsiedit.msc

Expand each of the following items:
Configuration Container
CN=Configuration, DC=Domain_Name,DC=com
CN=Services
CN=Microsoft Exchange
CN=Your_Organization_Name
CN=Administrative Groups
CN=Your_Administrative_Group_Name_Or_Exchange5.5_Site_Name
CN=Servers
CN=First  Storage Group
Does it list anything there ?

Check here how to remove exchange manually

I was thinking that maybe you were clearing out the database path, but the log file path may have still had data in it.
Good call and I caught that as well but still didn't work before trying the workaround.
