shed light on different Symbian Marketshare numbers

Can somebody please shed some light on why the Symbian Marketshare numbers vary so much in the attached graphics from two well established source? Symbian Marketshare question

well, first of all - left is for US, right is globally

Nokia (Symbian) has never been strong in US, while sales in Europe, China and Japan is a different matter. So Nokia as an owner of Symbian now has about 35% of the market share for smartphones globally.
