Hello,

I am currently using Avaya CMS reports  and there is a task that I would like to automate.  The task is to run a report on 5 users and have it export the findngs into excel.  Can I write a script in CMS or should I write a script in EXCEL/VBA to open up a session od CMS and use send keys to do all the work?

If someon can provide an example script to get this to work I would gladly appreciate it.
Not sure how in Excel to create a macro to open up a CMS session.

Thanks so much guys!

Hi Lance,
It was one of the prime reason for which i joined EE and this is what my findings is the best way to run your reports if you want to do it from excel and assuming you dont have a sysbase which is a odbc connector of CMS is then saved the script of the report which you are running assuming if its a daily script where you enter a date then try to save that report of that script by -1 and save the script where you export the data as when you export the data after you have run the report it gives you an option to save the script of the same.
Once you have saved the script then through system scheduler schedule that script to be run on a particular time and once you have run the script it will by deffault create a excel file. and then write a sample excel code in which on workbook open it opens up that workbook and copies the data in your report.
