Are your AD admin tools letting you down?

Managing Active Directory can get complicated.  Often, the native tools for managing AD are just not up to the task.  The largest Active Directory installations in the world have relied on one tool to manage their day-to-day administration tasks: Hyena. Start your trial today.

Do you have proxy enabled?
Try these links: http://www.walkernews.net/2009/05/14/how-to-fix-windows-update-error-80072efd-in-vista-sp1/
and http://forums.techarena.in/windows-update/748151.htm
You could possibly found them already but still I would give it a try.
And did you restart the server since first problem notice?

Hi MarioQuin,

I was just able to resolve this by doing the following on one of my 2008 boxes:

removing "WindowsUpdate" key from:

HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

as this contained references to another server on the network (we don't have WSUS setup)

Restarted the Windows Update server after this and the updates started working.

Sorry that should be Windows Update Service, not server - but either would work I guess.
