I need to access the selecte TEXT value of a dropdown using vbscript in an active server page.
Something like Request.Form("Type_" & idnum)
I don't want the value, I want the text from the selected drop down to use in a server call to a active x object.
Thanks in advance.

You can't with classic ASP, the only value that gets posted back to the server is the value. So, you either need to include the text as part of the value, and then parse it out on postback, or you need to use the posted value to go and lookup the text from it's original source.
