Sharepoint calculated column with trim?

I need to create a new Sharepoint calculated column that will combine Column A and Column B and trim the output to an XX amount of characters. How can I do it? Thanks

Easy.

1.- Create calculated field
2.- Formula=LEFT(ColumnA,3)&LEFT(ColumnB,3)


Change 3 to the number of chars you want.
U can also use functions like FIND, RIGHT, TRIM, LEN... depending what you want to do.
