Opening EML Files with Outlook 2007

Hello,

I've got an email archiving system that allows for messages to be exported only as .eml files. All my users run Outlook 2007 and not Outlook Express or Windows/Live Mail. When I have Windows open an eml file with Outlook 2007, all I get is a new send message with the original eml file attached. I hear Outlook 2010 can open .eml files juts fine but we're not there yet.

I did come across http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956693, but had no luck in installing the mentioned hotfix. The install mentioned something about the wrong version of Outlook (we're on Outlook 2007 SP2).

Has anyone been able to get Outlook 2007 to open .EML files via http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956693 or by any other means?

Thanks
