I am completely new to flash and have been given the task of creating a vertically scrolling text thingy. I need the code to automatically scroll the text/html continuously in a text box. Speed may need to be adjustable as well. Can anyone throw me a bone. i have googled this thing to death with nothing substantial to show for it.

This is going to scroll our cafeteria menu. the text/html will be something like this

<image>
food 1
food 2
<image>
food 3
food 4
<image>

thanks for your help!

The simplest way would be with using the HTML Marquee Tag.
Like this: http://de.selfhtml.org/html/text/anzeige/marquee.htm

wrap your content arounf <marquee> CONTENT </marquee>!

That is a possible solution however, that is a nonstandard tag. Its support could be dropped by the browser developers at any time.
