XP SP3 machine just reformated, when I run sqlrun_tools.msi it starts to run, then I get the error message attached.  When I click OK I get the message, "A valid destination folder for the install could not be determined."

Does anyone have any ideas?

Are you running it from a network drive?  Try copying the installer locally.

Run the setup from a local hard drive. Also make sure that the setup you are running is the "SQLServer2005_SSMSEE.msi"

I was running it from the DVD, then copied it to the local hard drive, same result.

The SQLServer2005_SSMSEE.msi, is that just the management studio?

Veeam Task Manager for Hyper-V

Task Manager for Hyper-V provides critical information that allows you to monitor Hyper-V performance by displaying real-time views of CPU and memory at the individual VM-level, so you can quickly identify which VMs are using host resources.

I'll try the cleanup utility, but what am I cleaning up?  Like I said, clean install, the only thing I installed before SQL was Office 2007.

Alright, looks like it worked, I ran the actual CD setup and let it install the initial tools, then canceled the setup, from here I could run sqlrun_tools.msi.
