error connecting to https ftp

had some issues before but found something new, someone said this was some sort of hotmail bug or something? cant get to certain https sites or updates for some software... please advise

What OS are you using for browsing?
Do you have any proxy which filters the traffic?

TO me it seems like the DNS issue, try google DNS servers
8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4 and check if you are able to browse the websites

xp pro...I've tried IE...firefox...chrome...i also tried the dns settings you suggested.

this is on a network with a domain....

the server is running 2003

about 10 computers total

3 fresh xp pr installs do not go the sites i said.

i thought i had it figured out yesterday but it did not work...grrr

i also tried at my house and it did not work on my pc...but it did on my mac...very strange
also it should be noted i cant go to any of microsoft.com
