I am able to open a document on a lotus notes website when it opens in a different page but it hangs when I try to open it in a frameset. This only occurs in IE8 and not in IE6

Probably a bug in IE8

I would also try  the latest Notes client version.

I hope this helps !

When you say it hangs, does IE change to not responding and crashes or does it partially load the frame ?

There used to be an issue with framesets within an iframe on IE occasionally?

The Action bar loads but the complete document does not load in frameset.

Try using the compatability mode in IE8 for that site.
