Button control not clicking in some environments

This is a freak bug that I have no clue to figure out, so hopefully someone has some insight.

I developed and released a data capture form and have gotten two users say that the Submit button is not clickable.  My whole team has used the form without any issue on PC / Mac, Firefox, IE and Safari.  No problems.

BUT, when I was developing a few weeks back, I was seeing this issue.  The page would build just fine, but when I tried to use it (even in Development), the submit button didn't respond or take focus at all.  I thought it was a table cell issue, so I ended up creating a new page, which solved it for me, but apparently not for everyone.

All I can think of is that it's a MasterPage problem.  Because when I had the problem, my aspx page was as simple as a table, two text boxes and a button.  I've attached my MasterPage code.  Please help!  Thx

Justin

Hi,

(1) Your problem is strange but how you concluded that there is some problem with master page.

(2) Did your clients are also using same browsers as you are using for development and testing. Because some of client browser might show abnormal behavior. Also mention the browser versions you are using.

(3) And last if you have no objection in disclosing Asp.Net page in which you have declared button, please let us know the code too.

Possible reason could be that sometime it is all due to the browser way of working with different pieces of code in different scenarios.

Regards,
VSS

Here's some more info and my aspx page code:

- I've got two users who have reported the problem, that use Safari 5.  But one of them said they experience the problem on Fire Fox too.  And when I was developing, I experienced the problem in Fire Fox as well.

Could it have something to do with using a <table>?  When I was developing another page, I had this problem.  It was very strange.  When I put the button before the table, it worked, but it didn't when it was the last row of the table.  I moved the button up, one row at a time, and found that it would work in the first couple of rows.  It frustrated me, so I started a new aspx page from scratch and so I didn't look into it any further.  It seems that it's still happening.  Please advise.  Thanks -

Why You Should Analyze Threat Actor TTPs

After years of analyzing threat actor behavior, it’s become clear that at any given time there are specific tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) that are particularly prevalent. By analyzing and understanding these TTPs, you can dramatically enhance your security program.

Hi,

I am only suggesting you the way in hope that they should solve your problem:

(1) Clean & Build your website & deploy it on IIS Server.

(2) Create new alias or virtual directory and deploy your website in that.

(3) As you said, When I put the button before the table, it worked, but it didn't when it  was the last row of the table. So I would suggest you for line 27.

VSS

I'm still stuck on it....  I have no idea what the problem is.  A handful of my users say that the button does nothing when they click it....  As if it's not active.  I've tried it on 3 computers with 3 browsers and it works perfectly.

I'm going to take it out of the master page and try it.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Hi,

If possible (and shareable) please email me all your code at vs00saini@gmail.com. And I will try to reproduce same bug on mine system. And then if possible I would send you back the same code if somehow matter resolves.

Please use subject line as EE: Button control not clicking  in some environments

Regards,
