AVG - E-mail Scanner for MS Exchange (SMTP TA) Stopped

I am running AVG 9 on our SBS 2008 server with Exchange 2007. This is a new installation of all these items. For the past week, mail delivery ceases or slows down from Exchange and I get a message in the AVG console: "E-mail Scanner for MS Exchange (SMTP TA) Stopped"

At this point, my only solution is to reboot the SBS server, then exchange starts working properly again.

Any ideas on how to fix thsi?

Uninstall your AVG 9 and download the new AVG 9.5 for exchange and install.

I just talked to AVG. They said there is no AVG 9.5. 9.0 is the latest.

No idea how to fix, as I have not used the AVG Exchange product.

But rather than rebooting the server, if you restart the AVG Service and restart the Microsoft Exchange Transport service this might get mail flowing again without the disruption of a reboot.. If this works you could bandaid the issue by restarting the services every night at 2am or similar, this will give you breathing space until you find a permanent fix.

I talked to AVG. This is a known but. They are working on it. Currently no fix except to stop email scanning.
