hi there

please download this script which will reset your taskbar:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/xp_taskbar_desktop_fixall.vbs

feel free to save it, right-click, edit... to open it in notepad if you want to examine the code

or just run it.

i know it says XP but the code is the same for win2k, 2k3, XP

if you want a non-scripted way to do it, this would do it too:

control-shift-escape
on the processes tab, end process on all explorer.exe and iexplore.exe
file > new task (run)
regedit

navigate to, backup and delete these keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects2
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Explorer\Streams
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StreamsMRU
