Hi Everyone,

My question is faily straightforward (i think).

I have a dataset full of 20,000 rows of data (obtained from an excel spreadheet) that I would like to insert into a database table.  I'm not sure how to do it.  I think I may need to use a dataAdapter and the associated InsertCommand, but I'm somewhat lost. Can anyone provide example code to help me out? Thanks!

Thanks for your reply.
First link -- I'm not interested in VB6.
Second link -- I dont think there is any mention of visual basic .net in any of those replies.

Eventually, I'll put it into a Teradata table (using an ODBC driver).
Conceptually, though, I dont know how I would do it using ANY database.  I mean, it wouldn't make sense to set up a loop that inserts each row one by one, would it?
That's why I thought a dataadapter may be the answer, but I'm not sure how I would put it together.

The problem was getting the data from a dataset to a database, not getting excel data into a dataset.
