SAS 9.2 Installation

Has anyone had trouble installing SAS 9.2? I have XP Pro with 32 bit. I checked to make sure that SAS 9.2 is compatible with my system and it all checked out. However, when I try to install the software I get an error when the wizard tries to install SAS Foundation. I also tried it on my friend's computer that is using Windows 7 with 32 bit and I got the exact same error message.

This is legal software.  I'm taking a SAS course starting on Monday and the SAS technical support isn't open on the weekends, so I'm working with a short time line here.  Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Please see attached error message.

did you click retry and if so what happened?  same?

Were you installing from CD-rom or download?

Yes, I removed what had been installed and then restarted my computer and tried to reinstall two times. The installation package is 4 DVDs!

And yes, I also clicked re-try before doing the above. I also tried to do the install anyway, but that didn't work either.

Some obvious questions:
1. Do you have admin rights on the PC to install software?
2. Do you have enough disk space to install the software?
3. Did you turnoff all anti-virus software before installing?  This will/has caused issues for me.

Thanks for all the comments on this post.  According to SAS, the problem is actually with a bad copy of the DVD, so they are sending me another copy.

Not the first time that has happened with SAS software.

Good luck on the second install.

The SAS installation DVD was damaged so I could not install it. I contacted SAS and they sent me another DVD and it installed fine.
