Question about Exchange 2007 uninistall.

I migrated from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010, now I am decommisioning the Exchange 2007 server. I was able to uninstall the Client Access a nd Hub Trasport role, but why when I try to unistall the Mailbox Role it keep alerting me to choos a trole to uninstall first, I think it may be because the public folder cannot be removed without asigning a new public folder databse. Any suggestions?

Uninstall cannot continue. Database 'Public Folder Database': The public folder database is the default public folder database.

I was wondering sense I already removed the client access role from AD, can just manulay delete the Exchange server folders.?
I wouldnt manually remove any folders, as you make break the installation completely. Do you require you public folder database for client data? did you create a replica of your public folders to your exchange 2010 environment?

If the public folders are no longer required, you can remove the references to them from Active Directory, as described in this blog: http://telnetport25.wordpress.com/2007/08/21/quick-tip-removing-exchange-2007-error-with-public-folder-replicas/

BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN ATTEMPTING THIS PROCEDURE! If you delete the wrong information you will break your Exchange 2010 server aswell.

I already move the suers and the public folders to an Exchange 2010 enviorment. Will this procedure still work?
I am sorry, but I cannot decide whether this procedure will work in your environment. you need to assess whether the information that I have provided is suitable for your situation.

Can you please run the following command Copy Code Get-MailboxDatabase | ft Name,PublicFolderDatabase and post the results
