How to "hide" published date and name of author in a node

Go to example.com/admin/build/themes/settings. Unchecked some of the boxes under "Display post information on" OR use CSS to hide it using "display: none".

I have created a content type called executive, that displays the above info.  How do have this affect only this content type.  Sorry for not mentioning this before.

On the page mentioned in my previous comment, you can control the displaying based on the content-type.
