JQuery Toggle Button that sets/resets database record

Hi All,
I want to display a toggle button on a webpage, which changes colour and displays the words ON (Green button)  or OFF (Red button), dependant on the state of a database record behind the toggle button - with the database record toggling between on/off every time the button is pressed.
