Outlook 2007 not finding emails in inbox using search

Hi,

I have had a couple of users who have just recently experienced search not working in outlook2007. I have rebuilt the index and have tried searching for a mail that i know is there but no joy.

I found this link
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/windowsdesktopsearchhelp/thread/f4dbca4d-86ed-4bdd-b02a-70654f0bbe5b/

mentioend in a previous question but it refers to vista, however unchecking the data file does work. once unchecked i can then search successfully.

The only this that the laptops have in common is that they have been rebuilt or the profile moved to new laptops. However i would have thought that after indexing and even if a mail is sitting in the inbox after indexing it cant be located in a search - unless of course i uncehck the data file for the inbox in question. I am using WIN XP sp3.

I am wondering if anyone can tell me why this would happen, and do i just leave the datafile unchecked from now on or would this have adverse problems down the line?

Thanks.
