Would like to setup limit to 5G max per mailbox. I know you can do this at the Exchange server or Mailbox store level using the Limits tab, but i need Exchange to send a notification to an admin (as well as the user) when the 5GB size limit is reached.

I don't think it's possible to do using Mailbox Management recipient policies as they check indiividual msg sizes rather than a whole mailbox - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319188

You need to set it manually for each mailbox through the quota attributes using adsiedit.

Good luck

the notification e-mail to the users is sending automatically. Exchange 2003 would log Event ID 8528 to the application event log when users exceeded their quota limits. You can also monitor this event  - another solution.
