RindbaekCommented:
LUW = Linux Unix Windows
z/OS = an IBM mainfraime

you need to download the version that match the OS that the database is running on. Most likely the LUW.

Hi chaituu,

Before buying a licensed copy of anything, check out the free options.

IBM's own tool, the IBM Data Studio, is free and works very, very well.

I also like the Aqua Data Studio from AquaFold.

It doesn't have all of the admin functionality that TOAD and the IBM Data Studio do,  but from a developer standpoint, it allows you to a common interface for almost all modern DBMS.  It supports DB2, Oracle, MySQL, PostGreSql, SQL Server, Informatix, and several more.

Good Luck,
Kent

When you ask a question like that one, we wonder what platform you are running DB2 on. The "best" tools might be different for different platforms. What version of DB2 are you working with?

          Hi!

Try IBM Data Studio 2.2 which is a very good tool. I use it to manage both DB2 v. 9.1 on LUW as well as DB2 v.9.1 Z/OS

This is very similar to the Oracle SQL Developer but native to DB2. :)

The DB2 Data Studio standalone runs on RedHat Linux, Suse Linux or Windows
