I am getting the following error when I try to register SQL Server from SSMS.
Background:
I changed the service account for the DB Engine and for the Agent from local to a domain account and restarted the services

Since then I am receiving: SQL SERVER 2005 CANNOT GENERATE SSPI CONTEXT when trying to reg the server form my desktop.

I am able to RDP to the server and use SSMS and register it okay.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

It has to do with the SPN. Please follow steps outlined here : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811889

Thank u for the reply.  What I did was to make the DB engine run under local system account and leave SQL Server agent to run under a domain service account; this enabled me to operate as before.

Thanks,
Dan
