I can not update Silverlight to 4.0

Every time I try and update Silverlight to 4.0, so that Visual Studio 2010 can set that as the target version, the update hangs.

I get the attached screen, where the little character is stil rotating, but indefinitely.

How can that be?

What should I do differently?

Even Cancel hangs.

Thanks,

I am trying to register Visual Studio, for m,y 60 day free trial, since I wonder if that codl be the reason it's hanging.

What do you think?

How do I register for the free trial?  It only wants me to pay thousands of dollars for this thing, which I do not have.  I just want to register for the free trial.

Can you tell me how?

From ScottGu's blog:
Important: If you previously installed the Silverlight 4 Beta or RC build on your machine, please make sure to go into Add/Remove programs and uninstall the “Update for Visual Studio 2010 (KB976272)” package prior to installing the Silverlight Tools RC2 for Visual Studio 2010 setup.
I would suggest you check again in "control panel"-->"programs"-->"view installed updates", and see if there's "Update for Visual Studio 2010 (KB976272)" installed, if there's, please uninstall it and try install silverlight tools again. Thanks.

Comment from http://forums.silverlight.net/forums/p/181687/412226.aspx

I was also facing same  issue.I am using VS 2010 ultimate RTM build and while installing Silverlight 4 i got same error.
But in my case i download different version of the silverlight 4 tools.
I download Silverlight 4 tools having 10.0.30319.165 version. More accurate : Silverlight 4 Build 4.0.50401.0 RTW
or directly from this link
http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/C/1/CC18960F-C22B-4E50-AE59-3424194933B7/Silverlight4_Tools.exe

And it is work for me.
So i think  it is a version issue

I uninstalled, then re-installed.  After a long long wait, it completed the Silverlight 4.0 installation.

Thanks!
