Whenever i changing the site logo url from the default one _layouts/images/siteicon.jpg to _Layouts/images/customlogo.bmp

It shows the image clearly  in the designer but when the masterpage is approved and applied we get and error file not found

whenever I deply images to 14 hive structure images folder, it shows up in the desginer but when the master page is applied , it says file not found error,

very curious to know the reason, reason never found before.....

I would check 'customlogo.bmp' permissions. You should ensure that it inherits permissions from its parent folder. If everything looks fine - save the file as gif, png or jpg and try again.

That is what I am talking about - please check NTFS permissions on this file (...\TEMPLATE\Images\customlogo.bmp).
