How can i link quickbooks and excel, from the p&l report i generate a different report in excel(different format), if i export it and reference this page with my formatted page, i have to update the links because some accounts may or may not appear the following month, so in the exported sheet could shift rows up and down.

How can i fix this?

There are two approaches you could use.

(1) You can do it yourself. Use the trial balance as your export document, and then in a different sheet in the same workbook, use equations to pull over the P&L data you need. You can deal with missing accounts this way.
(2) There are third party tools that can help with this. Take a look at the Intuit Marketplace:

Another (third) thing you can do is to look in your P&L Report (run one) in Modify Report. In the Display Tab, click on Advanced (bottom right). Under Display Rows, click All. This will show you a complete report with zeros that is constant for Excel. I tend not to use this feature, but it may do just fine for you. ... Thinkpads_User
