Problem printing PDF files

Recently developed a problem printing PDF files.  In past was able to print PDF files off internet (Firefox) or print PDF attachment to emails (Outlook 2007) - Running Vista Home Premium 32.

When attempt to print, instead of going to printer dialog computer opens dialog to save document - error message comes on about script hanging up (assume that is the printing script)- after comply with dialog and save pdf document the print dialog comes up but hangs up the computer for several minutes.  The PDF file DOES eventually print.

I believe I MAY have seen flash of reference to PDF Create software during this process - have PDF Create 4, PDF Creator 4 and OmniPage 15 - all originally Scansoft software but now Nuance software - possible interference between software with some recent update of windows...  Nuance site will not give assistance as out of support period.  Printer default set to Fuji Xerox Docuprint 203A and everything else prints OK.

Have NOT tried to uninstall Monipage or PDF Create or PDF Converter as they were an on-line download from 2007 (when upgraded to Omnipage 15 came as a package) and suspect no longer have on-line access to the vista compatible version.

Would like to be able to print PDF files without having to save the documents - and then without hanging up computer for several minutes before print goes through.  If necessary will sacrifice (uninstall) Scansoft software but would like to avoid that step unless necessary.

I would use acrobat viewer for your viewing and printing - and set it to be the default app to open a pdf.

then use the other app(s) for creating pdfs as you need.

wolfcamel -

thank you for the prompt response.  Right after I put up this question I went back onto Outlook and tested the problem on some attachments (in pdf format) and for some unknown reason everything worked fine - for the first time in  about a month.  Perhaps because I had opened and closed PDF create and Converter and Omnipage several times in trying to find help-support from Nuance.  I need to experiment some more to see if problem comes back.  It is all very odd!

When a pdf comes attached to an email (Outlook 2007)  I normally open it up by double-clicking on it within Outlook - has always worked and opened up in Adobe Reader (that is my default reader for pdf) - and then has always printed when clicked on printer icon in Adobe Reader - until this problem arose a month or so ago.   For now appears the problem has gone away (as mysteriously as when it started)

Will get back in a day or so - past my bedtime in Western Australia.

To whom it may concern,

I have had difficulty consistently reproducing this problem, but it kept arising ocassionally - so I uninstalled Omnipage 15 modlue known as PDF Create 4 - Scansoft/Nuance software.

Since uninstall the problem has not arisen.  HOWEVER,  since it was always internittent I am noit absolutelty sure that the solution was about this software conflict.

For nowI will assume that was the soluton and will withdraw the question.,
