The documentation of GW8 states that you can lock out specific client versions (from 6.x and up), and IMHO that means that older clients will work with GW8. You will of course not have all benefits of GW8..<br />

I want to access a GroupWise 8 email server with GroupWise 7 client and was wondering if I would have problems doing that. Would there be problems with emails, calendars and address books if I use an older client? Would I have problems if I wanted to export calendars to vcs files and address books to NAB files? What would be the issues, or is this nothing to worry about?<br />

Groupware, also known as collaborative software, is a type of application software designed to help people involved in a common task to achieve their goals. Groupware

An email client, email reader or more formally mail user agent (MUA) is a computer program in the category of groupware environments used to access and manage a user's email. A web application that provides message management, composition, and reception functions may internally act as an email client; as a whole, it is commonly referred to as webmail. Likewise, email client may be referred to a piece of computer hardware or software whose primary or most visible role is to work as an email client. Email clients can also have other systems, like calendars, notes and contact managers.

Email Clients

NetWare is a computer network operating system developed by Novell, Inc. It initially used cooperative multitasking to run various services on a personal computer, using the Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX) network protocol. It is hardware-independent, running on any suitable Intel-based PC compatible system, and a wide range of network cards. Products inclue NetWare Directory Services (NDS), a global directory service similar to Microsoft's Active Directory; GroupWise, an email system; ZENworks, an application configuration suite; and BorderManager, a security product.
