The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available

I've installed a SP 2010 Server on my Windows 7 dev laptop... I keep getting the error:

"The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available. The Application Pool or Managed Metadata Web Service may not have been started. Please Contact your Administrator. "

How do I get rid of that? It happens when I try to manage the Managed Metadata Service

Yes that's the error - I tried to install that update but it doesn't seem to work just yet...

Is there something I have to do after installing the update?
i dont think so - however as i said in my first post, this is a prereq so you should have installed this before installing SP. after you install the update try iisreset to better reboot you SP server - you might get lucky!
Something must have been hanging in SharePoint, this morning after rebooting the system, the managed metadata service was available... :o)
