.rdl keeps opening in xml

i dont understand....but my .rdl file keeps opening in xml....i've tried:

 opening the project then opening file(same result)
opening the project then adding exiting item
creating new project then opening the ifle
creating new project then adding existing item


this is sooo frustrating...

why does MS make this sooo  complicated?

ok...well now it works magically somehow....but now another problem.....I get the following error when i try to preview the report....

there are 2 reports in the project pulling the same datasets but the one report wont work....this also is magically happening and wasn't happening yesterday...

okay...so heres how I solved that problem....I just created a new project --> new report item --> pasted the report into the new rpeort...now it works...

The answer is quite simple.  It is Xml.

I guess you have not been around much.  Have you tried Oracle?

yeah...i've just started to use ssrs and we don't use oracle at the company i work for....ssrs is pretty powerful i will admit, theres just a few things I dont like about it.

okay...so heres the solution...you have to open the project first and then open the rdl file.....
