I need to test a backup/restore for the physical servers.  We use the Backup Exec version 12.5
Does Backup Exec has a functionality to do the whole image restore (bare-metal)? or is it files individually only?

Please advice.

No tapes.  We backup to disk only.

I am asking if there is a way with backup exec to restore the whole system, like bare metal restore; instead of individual files.

Hey,

By bare metal i guess you mean system recovery during boot and not through agents. So the question to your answer if Backup Exec 12.5 can do this, that is a no. What you need is Symantec backup exec System Recovery 8.5 Server Edition.

NFR key for Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

Veeam is happy to provide a free NFR license (for 1 year, up to 10 users). This license allows for the non‑production use of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 in your home lab without any feature limitations.

I see we do not have that system recovery.  so I guess I need to test backup/restore with old fashion way:
fiind like hardware to the prod system
install windows
install backup agent
restore backup to system
test...
