See the Mailbox agent logs inside blackberry installation folder to get a clue.

Is this happening for all users? or just for one?

Thanks
Shaba

Two things that you can try...

1) Reconcile Now in the menu (cannot remember exactly where it is)
2) Remove the battery while the unit is still on, leaving for about 2 minutes and re-insert.

Items not syncing is a common thing and number 2 usually fixes all connectivity issues.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

have you check the sql server? slow performance on sql server can slow down the email push.

also you internet connection and SRP resolve with RIM servers, you could check your router/firewall to see if you have bandwidth problems.  if you have a basic server and increasing number of users, you may be pushing the limits of your BES too.

wouldn't recommend Reconcile Now on every handset, it stops the server from what its doing to process that request immediately, and you would have to do it once Outlook has updated your Inbox - its located in the Messages viewing mode and by clicking the BB logo button and scroll down to the foot of the menu, should be right under Options.

normally after updates, i would restart the Email server first, once its backup and settled, i would then restart the BES server.  You might want to consider upgrading your BES to at least 4.1.6 to get some better features and be able to use the latest OS/firmware on your handsets.

You can assign the users to static agents
Steps for BES 4.1.x
To assign BlackBerry device users to a static mailbox agent, complete the following steps:

1. In BlackBerry Manager, select a BlackBerry device user to be assigned to a static agent.
2. Click Edit Properties.
3. In the Properties screen, select Advanced.
4. Set Enable Static Mailbox Agent to true.
 5. Set Mailbox Agent ID to a value between 200-399.

Note: For example if you have 209 as your static agent, next time if you have to assign a different user to the static agents you can give 209 as the Mailbox agent ID. There is no need to create new static agent for each user. The agents get listed as blackberryagent.exe under processes in the task manager.

In case a static agent needs to be turned-off , then you can set Enable Static Mailbox Agent to false for the static agent users and restart the BES services during a maintenance window. Once you set false for all static agent users, the agent stops on its own. There will be reduction in the count of blackberryagent.exe under processes in the task manager.
