Openfire and Spark is there a way save users chats???

Hello,

Yesterday my VP wanted and Internal IM system. I got a test XP running VMware and installed Openfire 3.6.4 for Windows. everybody loves it but now the HR dept wants a way to monitor the messages if needed.

does anybody know how to do this?

Openfire will archive messages and allow you to browse and search them through the web interface.

To enable message archiving go into plugins in the web interface then available plugins (it this is you first time here you will need to click the link in the orange box to download the plugin list) select  the plus sign on Monitoring Service to install the plugin.

Now if you go into the Server tab you will have statistics and archiving, if you go into archiving then archiving settings you can customise what messages get logged (one-to-one chats, group chats, etc), then click update.

You can now use the search archive to search for any recorded message/conversations.
