You can do this in Illustrator when you save the document as a PDF. Just select the protection settings you want at the time you create the PDF and you are done. You can also open the unprotected document in Acrobat and follow the instructions in the Adobe TV video mentioned above. <br />

thanks for the reply, but I am not looking for pasword protection but to prevent them from modifying the content. &nbsp;Basicly to have the same functionality as if they only have acrobat reader. &nbsp;Can view, but not modify.<br />

How to lock a pdf file from being edited

Illustration software is distinguished from photo-editing software in that the result is an original construction, rather than the manipulation of a photograph.
