How can I shorten the interval for Symantec Antivirus' policy update cycle?

Greetings -

I'm in the process of ripping Symantec Antivirus out of my environment because it in and of itself is an infestation.  That said, I'm wondering if anyone knows how to configure the product to phone home to its parent server on a more regular basis for policy updates?

I'm trying to disable Tamper Protection and configure other global settings and would like the clients to get setting changes such as this in short order.

Where can I configure this?  Any ideas?  I have no idea what the default policy refresh interval is.

We are using Symantec Endpoint Protection. The following is how we set the "Clients update Interval"...
- Open Symantec Endpoint Management Console
- Click on Policies Tab (on the left)
- Under "View Policies" at the top click "Live Update"
- Under Tasks Click "Edit this Policy"
- Live Update Settings policy windows appears, click Schedule (top left)
- Put a check mark in the "Enable LiveUpdate Scheduling"
- Put in a value for "Frequency" and Retry Interval

Unfortunately, I'm running all 10.0 and 10.1 clients and I don't have any of the menus you're referring to.  I've gone through the entire Symantec System Center console and I can't find any settings for policy refresh intervals.

LiveUpdate doesn't seem to refresh the client's policy.  It obtains the latest defs but the policy doesn't seem to be downloaded from the parent at that point.

Maybe this could possible help with scheduled updates for 10.1.

I've found out from Symantec that the interval at which the SAV 10.0 and 10.1 clients update their policy is a hard-coded value within the product and is not configurable by the user.  The definition and engine update checks are configurable but the policy retrieval interval is not.

Unfortunately, there is no solution to this.  :(  Thanks for all your help.
