asked on
online meeting/colaboration software
I have been asked to research software which will enable virtual meetings, and ongoing colabaration. What is wanted, is for ppl to be able to post documents, comment on them, have non-realtime meetings. I would envision a forum type environment, where documents can be displayed as well.
The goal is to eliminate the need to have a room full of leaders at any set interval, and instead have a meeting space where ideas can be shared on an ongoing basis. Was thinking about SharePoint, but was also hoping for some other candidates.

Have you looked at Google Wave? (google.com/wave) It's a great collaboration tool provided by Google and is absolutely free.

I haven't until now. The problem I see with it (from the 30 seconds I just spent on it) is that there could be sensitive documents, that we would not want to leave our network...
Here is a pretty good list of different collaborate softwares, both server based and web based. Hope this helps a little more
