combining servers to one machine
Posted on 2010-08-30
May be a difficult question here, I am in a situation where we had some water damage to some of our equipment. the equipment is still running but has been deemed non usable and is in an insurance claim and needs to be claimed by the adjuster.
I have benn given a HP proliant machine and tasked with installing server 2003 and putting the domain controller, AD, and exchange 2003 on this machine until we can purchace a new machine that will be used as a virtual server.
Currently the network is set up today as follows.
DC, AD - running on DELL Poweredge Windows server 2008
Exchange server - running on HP Proliant Windows server 2003 R2
File server - Running on proliant Windows server 2008 (this is going away and will be using NAS)
I have installed server 2003 and added it to the domain. I want to make sure I do everything I need to do in order to get everything functioning on this one machine temporarily. Have not run DCPROMO or ADPREP or anything just installed the server 2003 and R2 on temp server. updated it fully and added to the domain. I need steps from here to get everything moved over.
Thanks in advance...
