Is there a simple way to install Hebrew fonts on an Android?

I recently purchased a new Android OS phone.  I downloaded and installed a Hebrew prayer book but the characters appears as square boxes.  The device is telling me I need to install Hebrew fonts which sounds reasonable.  But when searching for the instructions to do so, it appears this is not so trivial.  The steps are not so straight forward to a basic user.  I was surprised to learn this since there is not this issue with the Iphone.  Does anyone have any suggestions of the best way to go about this?  Thank you.
