We have an Aopen mx4sg server and it does not turn on.  The fans work and the lights come on but then it fails.  We looked at the inside and see 2 red lights on the motherboard.  Does anyone know what these mean?

They are standby and boot leds...they should remain lit.  You may, however, have a bad power supply. When happens when it fails?  Try removing a memory stick.  Reseat all components.

When we turn on the computer, the front lights come on and the fans turn on, but then nothing happens.  The monitor stays blank.   I will try removing everything and reseat them and see if it helps.

Also try a different video card, or a different monitor.  If your video settings were for a different monitor (typically a crt) and went to an lcd, it can cause issues where the monitor won't work due to previous refresh and resolution settings.
You should also reset the motherboard by clearing the cmos before going any further:
1. Turn off & unplug from wall
2. Wait until power is removed from board, or unplug atx power cable
3. Move red jumper next to battery (near boot led) to pins 2-3
4. Wait a few seconds and return to original position
5. Reconnect and boot

This did not work.  I'm not seeing any activity on the monitor and can't tell if the HDD are even trying to boot.

I'm thinking the computer is beyond repair.
