im working on a laptop for a client. its a samsung R780, with windows 7 Home Premium.

they want to install this program called AVS video editor. it wont install due to an error related to directX.
it happens during a basic install process. i double click the .exe install file i click next and boom, error. i try updating directX like it says and another error appears.

i'll post some screen shots of the error. a solutions to this would be great :)

Thanks after attempted AVS Editor install after attempted directX update/install

Have you tried running it in Compatibility Mode?  Right click on the install file and select Troubleshoot Compatibility and choose the default options.

Yep, it's directx 9.2 redistrib which is still used within Windows 7.  Extract it out and run DxSetup.exe, then reboot.

http://www.avs4you.com/AVS-Video-Editor.aspx

Make sure the version you are trying to install is compatible with win7.
Also ensure its 32bit or 64 bit
