Lotus Notes Client - Location prompt on startup

Hi Experts,

We are upgrading users from Notes 7.0.1 to Notes 8.5.1.

For some users, the startup login prompt does not provide a location dropdown - just the password prompt. We have fiddled with Single Sign On, and the Prompt for Location on Startup that appears in "basic client settings" when you enable that, we have changed the notes.ini variable PromptForLocation. It seems to work for some pcs, but not others.

Any thoughts? Is there caching going on? How does Notes decide whether to show the location dropdown or not?

Sounds like an issue with the INI file.  I would try a clean install for the users with this problem.  If you would rather not do a clean install you could try opening the notes.ini file and deleting all but the top 3 lines, make a copy first of course.  Then launch Notes and reconfigure the client.

Hi G3m1n1,

Thanks for that. It works when I do the clean install + add the PromptForLocation=1 line to notes.ini that results.
