Symantec End point Security manager console failed to start - The Java Virtual Machine has exited with a code of -1, the service is being stopped

Hi All,

I'm having problem with my Symantec End Point Protection Antivirus server (SEP v11 MR6 MP1) it failed to start in the services.msc and here's what i've got in the error log.

my environment is using:

Windows Server 2003 Standard x64
SQL Server 2008 Standard 64 bit --> used by SEM5 db instance.

any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that the server is running and your session has not timed out.

If you can reach the server but cannot log on, make sure that you provided the correct parameters.

Hi, while starting the service try continuosly issuing a ' netstat -na | find "SYN" ' command in a command prompt window.
This will show you unsuccessful connections.
Then check your firewall software.

Hope it helps.

ok, here's what I've done to fix this problem, run the following two lines in the command prompt:

cscript %SYSTEMDRIVE%\inetpub\adminscripts\adsutil.vbs SET W3SVC/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 0
%SYSTEMROOT%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

after that I checked with the service and started it and when refreshed and checked,successfuly running.
