Hi,

Chances are that the basckup has completed successfully but not transferred via FTP - if this is the case then they will be in the /var/CPbackup/backups directory.

Run the command: "cat /var/CPbackup/conf/backup_sched.conf" and check that the settings are all correct. If they are then make sure that you have a rule allowing outgoing FTP from the firewall.

If after the above you sitll cannot get this to work then take a packet capture while you initiate a backup.

e.g. fw monitor -e "accept src=gateway_IP or dst=gateway_IP or src=ftpserver_IP or dst=ftpserver_IP;" -o ftp.cap

Once you have this then you can view in wireshark to debug further.

This is a clean install with Secure Platform  as a Mangement Server traffic is not going via any firewall

* Is there anything in /var/CPbackup/backups when you try an ftp backup?

* Is there a rule to allow ftp from the gateway to the ftp server?

* Are the settings in /var/CPbackup/conf/backup_sched.conf correct?

* Have you taken a packet capture?

Is this R70 with no HFAs?

If so, there was a problem with the vanilla install. Try applying the latest HFA and re-test.

Ok, if the latest hotfix doesnt work then you will need to open a SR to request a hotfix, as persk44344 - WebUI FTP Backup does not work properly.

The user has been provided with a potential fix (apply the latest HFA) or alternatively open an SR with CheckPoint as per the provided SK article reference:
