SourceSafe issues

Here's the deal.  I ran the analyze tool (analyze -c -d -f -v4 %data%) last thursday as a preventative maintenance.  However, now when the developers try to create a project from sourcesafe, they get an error "can't create a new microsoft access database from this source control project.  It contains neither a data and misc. objects file nor a database name file".

Arg!

So, then I find out that my normal sourcesafe backup hasn't been running (ironically it was temporarily disabled two months ago when we last were dealing with corruption issues) so then I remember that analyze makes a backup of all the files it touches.

Here's the second problem: I can find no documentation anywhere on how to make any sort of use of the backup folder created by the analyze utility.

Any help on either issue would be greatly appreciated!
