This is Server 2008 32Bit Enterprise.  I need Q958912 to update MPIO.SYS to version 6.0.6001.22289 in order for me to Install NetApp Data OnTap DSM 3.1.1.  I know this update is supposed to be packaged with SP2, but it is not updating MPIO.SYS on this HP Server.  Whatever I try to do, it leaves MPIO.SYS at version 6.0.6001.18000.

Currently this server is a fresh load, before SP2 and I still have the same problem.  It will not take this hotfix from Microsoft.

Yes and the same thing happened.  I ended up opening a MS case.  The problem was resolved by simply adding the MPIO Feature...

Multipath I/O

you must reboot - it will not prompt you to....

after reboot, the mpio.sys drive is updated.  I would assume that if this feature was installed before SP2, that it would have updated as well.
